Day 3 – And the Winner is?
Well, it was Day 3 of the Republican National Convention yesterday. The Republicans presented us with 4 prominent speakers: Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin.
While I think Rudy Giuliani was the strongest speaker of the night, Sarah Palin probably was the big winner as many people were tuning in to see what type of a speaker she was. And, she did remarkably well, considering she hasn’t been in the national spotlight and had to do a lot of cramming before the convention, and there may have been some problem with the teleprompter.
Rudy Giuliani’s speech was very energetic, and he used his hands very effectively. There was no way one could drift off during his speech. Again, whether you agree with him or not you have to admit he gave a very impassioned speech.
Compare his speech last night with his speech announcing his running for president. He couldn’t keep his eyes off his notes! And he just didn’t have the passion that he had last night.
